ngwe supermarkets in September, Shoprite at Gateway Mall, Chipiku Plus at Game Complex, Sana Super Market, City Super
Market and Golden Peacock Supermarket are the first to join in the drive of promoting Malawian products and encouraging Malawians to buy local.

“The banners are bringing publicity to Malawian products. Customers have made requests for us to position Malawian products where they can be easily accessed,” Said Andrew Banda, Fresh Foods Manager at Gateway Mall Shoprite.
“We have had questions of pricing as well. Customers feel Malawian products are expensive as compared to their imported substitutes. Such requests from our customers has led us to examine our pricing of local products at the branch level,’’ he added.

City Supermarket and Sana say customers walking into their shops are taking time to appreciate the information they see on the banners.
The initiative is a continuation of the Buy Malawi Secretariat’s drive in ensuring the Buy Malawi Brand becomes unforgettable.
